Instructor or Assistant Professor

The College of Arts and Humanities at Lindenwood University invites applications for an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Theatre.

Qualified applicants will possess a MA (MFA preferred) in Theatre, a sub-field, or closely related field with specialization in Technical Theatre and Design.

We seek an enthusiastic teacher, a committed highly collaborative colleague whose background demonstrates an ability to support students’ development as they prepare for many different careers both within and outside of traditional theatrical fields. The position will be expected to teach 2 courses (6 credit hours) each semester in the Theatre curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online.

In addition to 12 hours per academic year of instruction, this position will receive 12 release hours per academic year for technical duties and student mentoring in the production of the program’s 4-show season.

All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students, continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship, and participate in faculty governance and campus life.

The Instructor or Assistant Professor of Theatre is a full-time, 9-month faculty position that will begin August 13, 2026.
