Summary

A general management professional with over 25 years of experience at respected institutions. A committed and accomplished leader known for dedication, commitment, and an ability to maintain a positive working environment. Excels in working within various levels of management with enthusiasm for new challenges and continuous professional development. Ideal candidate for positions that require a strong blend of managerial expertise and a deep understanding of the arts industry.

Education

I hold an MFA in Performing Arts Management from Brooklyn College and a BFA in Dance Production from Purchase College.  I have over 20 years of experience in the performing arts industry and a strong appreciation of their importance in our education and society.  I have worked in world class institutions with incredible artists, leading tours, advocating for their needs and supervising as a trusted manager.  I have strong customer service skills and knowledge of what is needed to bring a production to the stage.  I am free to relocate.

Experience

During my tenure at Scarsdale Ballet Studio, I had the privilege of steering the full spectrum of operations, strategically shaping sustainable short and long-term initiatives that contributed significantly to increased enrollment and revenue. Under my leadership, I cultivated an artistic environment rooted in excellence, innovation, equity, positivity, and inclusion, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.

One of my notable achievements was overseeing the seamless administration of the school, including bi-weekly payroll, accounts receivable and payable, banking, staffing, registration, customer relations, and reporting. I also played a pivotal role in developing and implementing organizational policies and structures that heightened operational efficiency, ensuring the organization’s smooth operation.

Furthermore, I spearheaded the daily operations of our pre-professional ballet school, supervising a student body of over 270 individuals across 65 weekly classes, with a dedicated staff of 15. Additionally, I directed the creation of a brand-new Nutcracker production, meticulously managing complex logistics involving sets, drops, over 600 costumes, and props. This endeavor significantly contributed to our organization’s artistic excellence.

As an advocate for bridging the gap between artistic and management teams, I partnered as a thought leader with our artistic director, supporting their vision and successfully implementing a strategic plan that achieved a delicate balance between artistic objectives and financial outcomes.

In my additional experience as a Company Manager at New York City Ballet, I honed my negotiation skills, securing vital royalty contracts with music publishers, composers, and choreographers, and optimizing financial agreements for the organization. I also demonstrated my prowess in overseeing diverse workforces, managing payroll, and administering benefits while ensuring strict adherence to labor regulations. My role further entailed supervising intricate travel arrangements for international and domestic tours, involving groups exceeding 200 individuals, spanning multiple countries worldwide.
