Program and Gallery Manager

The Gochman Family Collection (GFC) seeks a Program and Gallery Manager to oversee programming, community engagement, and daily operations of Branchline, GFC’s new space in Katonah, NY. Branchline includes gallery spaces and apartments that host visiting artists, scholars, and collaborators.

This role is central to the day-to-day life of the space and requires a warm, organized, community-minded individual who is deeply engaged with contemporary art—particularly contemporary Indigenous art and practices.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & On-Site Event Facilitation

• Collaborate with the Director to develop the annual programming calendar
• Manage logistics for events, panels, workshops, convenings, and other public programs
• Coordinate with teaching artists and liaise with vendors
• Work with the Collection Associate to create promotional materials
• Partner with the Director and the Creative Director to coordinate programs with Indigenous communities and cultural partners
• Partner with Creative Director to align social media strategies between GFC and Branchline
• Collaborate with the Assistant Curator and Collection Associate to schedule and support public and private tours
• Maintain program budgets and coordinate staffing for events

Community Engagement & Relationship Building

• Partner with the Director and the Creative Director to build and maintain
• relationships with:
  • o Indigenous communities (local, diasporic, and homelands communities)
  • o Cultural institutions, organizations, galleries, and artists in the regiono Local businesses, nonprofits, and community stakeholders
• Cultivate local audiences and strengthen community participation in Branchline programming
• Serve as a welcoming, consistent presence in the Katonah community

Exhibition Support

• Assist the Assistant Curator and Collection Associate with exhibition planning
• Coordinate with the Head of Art Collection & Registrar on installation logistics and scheduling
• Liaise with vendors and contractors during installation periods

Artist Visits Support

• Maintain the schedule for artist visits and apartment stays in collaboration with the Director, Creative Director, and Collection Associate
• Serve as a primary point of contact for visiting artists
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors working in the space
• Support travel arrangements and provide hospitality needs for artists staying in Branchline apartments

Staff Supervision & Site Operations

• Supervise and assist in training staff and interns at Branchline
• Oversee daily operations to ensure a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in contemporary art, with enthusiasm for contemporary Indigenous art and practices
• Experience in community engagement, arts programming, events, or nonprofit operations
• Clear, compelling communicator across diverse audiences and communities
• Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Experience supervising staff and managing budgets
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with digital toolsCompensation & Benefits
• This full-time position offers an annual salary in the range of $65,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience. GFC provides a competitive benefits package, including group health insurance and a 401(k)-retirement plan for eligible employees

Schedule & Work Structure

• Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week, including one weekend day
  (this position is exempt from overtime requirements)
• Evening and weekend hours required for programs and events
• Travel to other GFC sites, including Manhattan, West Palm Beach, Colorado, and Paris

Salary: $65000 – $80000(Annual)
