Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition/HR Manager reports into the Associate Directors, Human Resources and will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing our talent acquisition and onboarding strategy. This role will serve as a strategic talent partner, maintaining cross-functional relationships with internal partners to attract, hire and retain talent. This role will be “hands-on,” working directly with hiring managers to provide full life cycle recruitment of top tier talent at various levels and will also directly supervise a Talent Acquisition Associate who is also responsible for full cycle recruitment for their assigned positions.

This role will have exposure to employee relations and on occasion will be asked to provide employee relations support as needed. Therefore, the ideal candidate for this position will have several years of experience in full cycle recruitment, experience managing direct report(s) and relevant employee relations/Generalist experience.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Servers as the Talent Acquisition expert and manages all talent Acquisition activities associated with full cycle recruitment including, sourcing, candidate generation, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
  • Responsible for meeting with department hiring managers across the institution to understand short and long-term hiring needs with a focus on recruiting diverse talent for various levels within the organization.
  • Develops, recommends and implements innovative recruitment strategies, best practices and process improvements which support the goals of our institution.
  • Partners with HR leadership to assess and improve progressive diversity sourcing and attraction strategies.
  • Drives best-in-class experience for both candidates and internal partners. Effectively articulates our employee value proposition to external and internal candidates.
  • Maintains comprehensive understanding of Museum policies, union contracts provisions and compensation strategies to ensure compliance and to best advise hiring managers.
  • Provides training and guidance on the overall recruitment process. Recommends, creates and conducts recruiting related workshops for managers on a regular basis. Establishes and fulfills SLAs and sets service standards for hiring managers and department leaders.
  • Routinely monitors and analyzes recruiting information to identify trends and/or opportunities to improve hiring capability and results. Evaluates productivity an effectiveness of methods used to deliver results.
  • In partnership with the larger HR team, develops and maintains a robust onboarding experience/program to help introduce new hires to the Museum’s history, mission and culture.
  • Builds relationships with staff at all levels, and across the organization. Assures that new hires integrate effectively into the Museum.
  • With guidance from the Associate Directors, Human Resources, on occasion will provide HR support in areas of employee relations, employee development, etc., as well as provide backup support for HR colleagues.
  • Performs any other assigned duties reasonably related to the functions described above.

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree and seven or more years of experience in HR with a focus on talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Experience successfully developing and executing innovative recruitment strategies, including using creative sourcing methods to tap into diverse and passive applicant pools.
  • Experience using an enterprise-scale Applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data within applicant tracking systems and develop strategies to drive outcome metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills with a consultive approach; talent advisor mindset with a proven track record of influencing senior leaders in the business and across HR.
  • Ability to develop authentic relationships with a diverse audience of professionals.
  • Superb customer focus, attention to detail, and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of EEO, OFCCP, ADA and employment laws.
  • Understanding of how other HR disciplines fit into the recruitment process and employee lifecycle.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft office products. Excel and/or Powerpoint.

Supervises: Talent Acquisition Associate

Reports to: Associate Directors, Human Resources

Salary Range: Minimum of $90,000 to a maximum of $140,000 per annum
