Lessons in Your Home Houston is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Assistant Director to join our team and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of our school. Our school is dedicated to teaching engaging, fun, and goal centered private music lessons to students of all ages and ability levels in a supportive and professional environment. Position Summary:
The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the music school. This role requires a dynamic, solution-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for music education, and a talent for handling multiple tasks with a high level of professionalism. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and be prepared to make important decisions while maintaining a positive school atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Director to execute long-term goals and plans for the school’s growth, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and vision
- Coordinate and organize school recitals, performances, and special events, ensuring all logistics are smoothly executed.
- Handle scheduling changes, ensuring minimal disruption to students’ lessons and the school’s overall schedule.
- Make informed decisions on account-related matters, such as billing, payment plans, and any financial adjustments, in accordance with school policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student accounts to ensure timely follow-ups with families
- Communicate with professionalism, patience, and clear communication
- Assist with general administrative tasks, including email communication, document management, and database upkeep.
- Take initiative in implementing new ideas and strategies to improve the overall student and staff experience.
Our Ideal Candidate’s Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree ideally in the arts realm and/or 1-2+ years of arts administration experience
- Background in music highly preferable
- Located in the Greater Houston Area
- Ability to work primarily remotely, and in person, as needed (1-2 days/week)
- Able to work evenings and weekends on rare but important occasions
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with phone communication
- Able to handle multiple task centric projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Have a strong ability to analyze and resolve issues independently
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
Compensation and Schedule:
- Hourly pay of $18-21/hour DOE
- 35 hours/week
- Weekly Direct Deposit
- Mon-Fri from 9:30am-4:30pm
