Visiting Assistant Professor of Theater
The Theater Department of Lafayette College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Theater, starting in January 2024 and continuing through May 2025, with a possibility for a one-year extension.
This department member will teach introductory and advanced courses in Theater Studies, Performance and Literature, as well as Theater courses that fulfill the requirements of the College’s Common Course of Study.
Candidates should be experienced theater directors, and candidates with a public record of scholarly work in theater are preferred.
We are seeking a candidate who can cover a variety of courses, including some (but not all) of the following: Theater and Diversity, Directing, Religion and Theater, Theater and Film, Queer Theater and Introduction to Theater.
Teaching other courses related to the candidate’s area of specialization is possible.
This department member will direct as part of the mainstage season in 2024-2025.
The teaching load is three courses per semester (six courses per academic year, or 3-3); directing counts in load. Teaching experience is preferred.
Candidates should have an MFA and/or PhD by the position start date: January 15, 2024.
