Visiting Assistant Professor of Lighting Design & Technology
The School of Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor of Lighting Design & Technology, beginning August 1, 2023.
Primary responsibilities:
teaching three courses in lighting design and/or technology each semester; design lighting for Tartuffe during Spring 2024 semester, oversee all lighting aspects of SoT productions; mentoring student electricians and lighting & media designers; maintaining lighting equipment and related areas of performance spaces; participate in departmental and college service.
Minimum qualifications:
Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or equivalent professional experience and demonstrated possession of necessary competencies.
Preferred qualifications:
MFA Design and/or Technical Production; comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard lighting techniques and equipment; experience with ETC consoles and intelligent fixtures; experience teaching/supervising students in a theatrical setting at a collegiate level
