POSITION: Technical Theater Assistant & Costumer – Part-Time – Lufkin
EMPLOYMENT DATE: Until Filled
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in technical theater or design.
- Three years’ experience in technical theater.
- Knowledge in costuming.
- Knowledge in lighting equipment, building, audio, staging systems or other production equipment, and/or basic Windows computer skill.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in technical theater or design.
- Preferred courses taken: Costume Construction, Costume Design, Stagecraft, Hanging and Focusing Lighting Plot, Practicum, and Intro to Theater Classes (or equivalent).
- Three years technical theater at the collegiate or professional level.
- AED/CPR Certified.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position will report to the Technical Manager and to the Chair of Visual & Performing Arts for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual.
Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Take direction from the Technical Manager
- Assist with the complete process of the AC Theatre Department’s productions for the whole year. This includes: costumes, sets, lights, sound, etc.
- Assist the Technical Manager with set up, tear down of AC and non-AC related functions in ACA and Hudgins Hall.
- Assist students during Theatre lab classes as per instruction from either the Technical Manager or other Theatre faculty.
- Assist Theatre lab instructors in maintaining Costume Storage and the Costume Shop.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repair.
- In charge of keeping the costume shop clean and organized.
CONTRACT & SALARY:
$13.00 per hour, in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
