Job Description
The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for Technical Director/Production Manager.
The position is a twelve-month Administrative Faculty position beginning as soon as possible. The Technical Director is expected to effectively supervise student workers, laboratory students, and student designers and stage managers with the goal to actively train these emerging professionals and further develop their skills in the field. The Technical Director will oversee the operation and maintenance of the scenic construction facilities and three performance spaces and be expected to engage in the professional management of equipment and personnel. Additionally, the Technical Director will coordinate the development of production seasons including the facilitation of technical elements and the supervision of technical rehearsals, maintain oversight of budgets and calendars with the department chair, liaison with university safety and facilities personnel, as well as other duties as assigned. The successful candidate should have excellent communication, thoughtful budgetary and time management skills, and knowledge of running a scene shop in an academic setting. They should demonstrate potential as an excellent teacher and mentor, willingness to undertake service roles, and the ability to model professional standards and lead by example.

Preferred Qualifications
- MFA in Theatre or related field with an emphasis in theatre technology/production management and two years of professional and /or academic experience.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or VectorWorks.
- Evidence of attention to diversity, equity and inclusion.
