Summer Staff – Marlboro Music Festival
Marlboro Music is widely considered to be the world’s leading center for the in-depth exploration of chamber music by outstanding professional musicians.
Each summer, under the artistic leadership of Mitsuko Uchida and Jonathan Biss, some 80 musicians of diverse ages and backgrounds come together on our wooded hilltop campus in southern Vermont, living with staff members, spouses, and children to form one large and nurturing musical family.
If you are a flexible team player who loves chamber music, community, and the natural beauty of Vermont, we encourage you to apply to join our 2021 summer staff.
All positions provide a substantial wage plus full room and board (a single room on campus and all meals). Must be available from June 11 through August 24.
Summer Positions Include
- Festival Staff/Housekeeping: Festival staff members are responsible for maintaining campus facilities, including the cleaning and maintenance of dormitories, offices, and the Concert Hall. They also assist with parking before and after events. Must have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Lifeguard: The lifeguard spends fair weather days supervising the private festival beach at a nearby lake (4.5 miles from campus) that is fondly known as “the pond.” The lifeguard also assists with parking at concerts and may assist with on-campus activities when weather does not permit pond-going. Must be at least 18 and have or complete a lifeguard certification.
- Social Coordinator: The social coordinator works with others to facilitate the fun, social environment at Marlboro. They should be a creative thinker and planner, have a sense of humor, and be flexible but organized. Must enjoy socializing with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and overseeing and coordinating regular events in collaboration with others and within budget. This position also offers support to the Hospitality and Coffee Shop Managers. Food service or event planning experience is helpful. Must be over 21 with a valid driver’s license.
Please note that COVID-related protocols—including mask wearing, social distancing, and testing—will be in place at Marlboro this summer, and everyone is expected to comply. We are also hoping that all adults will be vaccinated prior to their arrival.
