Programming and Engagement Director

As a member of the newly formed Office of Performing Arts and Engagement under Hancher, in the role of the Programming and Engagement Director you will plan and direct a full range of performing arts presentations through Hancher Auditorium/Hancher Presents as well as education, and artist residency programs.
You will serve as a key senior team member in collaboration with the Executive Director and other academic, presenting, and producing arts leaders.
In this role you will:
Develop and oversee an annual presenting program with touring artists, identify and develop equitable partnerships in the university, community, region, and state, seeking to deepen and broaden impact through collaborative efforts. Nurture and grow relationships across the University of Iowa’s academic arts units, developing a creative campus where students, faculty, staff, and community members will thrive. Supervise and contribute to all other Programming Department responsibilities including but not limited to education and outreach, audience development, and grant writing. Meet or exceed all mission-based outcomes and financial goals.
Must be available to work nights and weekends when required.
