Studio & Artist Outreach Assistant

We are seeking a thoughtful, culturally literate Studio & Artist Outreach Assistant to support a late-career visual artist with a 50-year practice who is beginning a focused phase of gallery outreach and institutional visibility in New York City.

• $20 – $30 (Hourly)
• Part Time Permanent
• Entry Level
• 4-Year Degree

About the Artist

Luis, a Mexican-American artist, has maintained a sustained, independent practice for over five decades. His work is visually compelling and non-repetitive. This next phase of his career is about careful positioning and building relationships with the right galleries and collectors.

You will work with the artist to:

• Help articulate the artist’s narrative for galleries and curators.
• Research and contact galleries, curators and exhibition spaces.
• Support submissions, emails, follow-ups and outreach strategy.
• Assist with documentation of artwork.
• Help shape and grow the artist’s digital presence and audience by translating studio practice and process into engaging content.
• General administrative and studio support as needed.

This role is ideal for someone with experience or interest in:

• Galleries, museums, curatorial or editorial work.
• Artist development and long-term positioning.
• Digital marketing / branding for visual artists.
