Marketing Assistant Gallery Attendant

Cura Contemporary is a new art gallery opening Fall 2024 in downtown Morgan Hill, CA just south of San Jose.

We are looking to hire a full-time Marketing Assistant Gallery Attendant to join our creative team in September. Remote part-time work could start as early as August. The Marketing Assistant Gallery Attendant will work closely with the Communications Director to develop content to promote current and upcoming exhibitions, events, and workshops. They will create and schedule marketing materials across the website, social media, and in newsletters.

In addition they’ll assist with day-to-day operations of the gallery, greeting visitors, and remaining knowledgeable about the artists and artwork in the gallery. The ideal candidate will have a background in marketing, experience developing creative content, and knowledge of contemporary art, as well as the ability to work collaboratively on projects.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, art/art history, museum studies, or related field
  • 1+ year in a marketing role and/or developing content for a creative organization

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Communications Director to develop and schedule content across the marketing calendar
  • Community engagement across social platforms
  • Create engaging content for Facebook and Instagram, newsletters and print material
  • Collaborate with in-house and contracted designers, photographers, and videographers to produce compelling visual content
  • Greet gallery visitors and conduct sales

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience creating high-quality marketing content
  • Outstanding social media, graphic design, and photography skills
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and passion for contemporary art and engaging the South Bay community
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work independently
  • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities
  • Experience using Adobe Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc) and/or basic graphic design skills using Canva
  • Curiosity to learn new skills and knowledge

 

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand on your feet for prolonged periods of time
