Managing Director

Chenango River Theatre, a rurally based and fiscally stable, Equity-affiliated company in Greene, NY, producing 4 mainstage shows from May to October on a $300,000+ budget, seeks a full-time Managing Director to co-lead company in conjunction with Artistic Director.

Year-round, hands-on position with paid vacation and a salary range of $40-50,000 depending on experience.

The MD is the company’s only full time, year-round employee and is responsible for working with the AD and Board developing and managing the budget (Quickbooks) and guiding strategic planning for this 20-year-old regional theatre with a history of regional and world premieres.

Skills in grant writing, coordinating fundraising events and activities, facility maintenance, budget and revenue development along with aptitude in marketing, audience development, graphic design, and media promotions are a plus, along with experience with box office and front of house management. Familiarity with AEA’s SPT contract preferred.  Ability to learn on the job will be important.

Excellent opportunity for individual who may not have prior general manager or managing director experience.
