Full-Time Graphic Artist/Office Assistant
We are looking for a talented graphic artist to join our team.
The ideal person graduated from art school; can show us a strong portfolio of graphic art, web, and video work; and wants to join a growing company that is at the forefront of helping people with diabetes. If we had to choose one medium we’d want you to excel in it would be preparing graphics for the web based on stock photos and/or illustrations as well as from scratch when and where it makes sense. A major plus would be if you have personal experience with diabetes yourself and/or through a family member.
You’ll be working with us to create engaging and communicative visuals for our award-winning website – diaTribe learn.
We’ll put you in charge of all things graphically related. You’ll be working closely with the managing editor of diaTribe Learn and also with one of our advisors who just happens to have won awards for creative direction. Our benefits are top notch and include health care, free healthy food that you can prepare in our kitchen, and the opportunity to rub elbows with some of the foremost thought leaders in health and wellness.
This is the perfect position for someone right out of art school -or- someone with 1-3 years of experience. The right person will be taking on lots and lots of graphics projects with a high degree of confidence and also will handle scheduling and other office assistant tasks as needed, to keep all of us organized and sane.
If you are chronically disorganized, this probably isn’t the right job for you.
Salary is dependent on experience.

One in 7 adults in the United States already has diabetes. That number is growing, nationally and globally. It is expected that 1 in 3 adults in the US will be diagnosed with diabetes by 2050 and that over 600 million adults worldwide will have diabetes by 2040. Because there is no single solution to the diabetes epidemic, The diaTribe Foundation employs multiple strategies to improve the lives of people affected by diabetes and prediabetes and to change the dialogue about diabetes. A growing national 501(c)-certified nonprofit organization, we focus our program efforts on education, advocacy, and outreach as we strive to create a political and cultural shift that will reduce the burden of diabetes worldwide and allow people with diabetes to live healthier, happier, more hopeful lives.
Founded in 2013 by renowned diabetes advocate Kelly Close as an extension of her work in the field, our Foundation reaches nearly two million people every year with the free online patient resource, diaTribe.org.
In addition, we are persistent and influential advocates, bringing the patient voice to the FDA and policymakers nationwide. Finally, as a highly networked and deeply respected organization, we convene the brightest minds across sectors to develop innovative solutions to the type 2 diabetes epidemic.
