Exhibition Creative Director
Job Description
Position: Creative Director (Contractor)
We are government contractors applying for an exhibition bid and are seeking a Creative Director with experience in leading museum exhibitions.
Responsibilities:
The Creative Director shall provide expert-quality, creative design services for the upcoming exhibition. Specifically, the role includes:
– Developing and overseeing creative designs for a 3,700 sq ft exhibition space.
– Collaborating with the museum team to ensure the design aligns with the museum’s vision.
– Preparing and installing gallery elements on-site in a designated location under direct supervision of the Museum.
– The museum exhibition will take place in D.C. area.
Qualifications:
The Principal/Creative Director must have:
– At least five (5) years of experience leading a team.
– A demonstrated track record of designing creative, high-value historical exhibitions.
– Experience with casework and wall systems in cultural institutions comparable in size and importance.
Work Location:
The Creative Director shall primarily perform the work under this contract at their usual place of business but will also be required to report on-site for meetings, review of designs, and/or gallery elements.
Project Details:
– **Duration:** 18 months
– **Monthly Workload:** Flexible, in conjunction with the museum’s schedule
– **Presentation Dates:** Eight firm presentation dates
