Development Director

Job Description
Position Overview
The Development Director at Arts Garage will support the President & CEO’s fundraising efforts, including cultivating relationships with donors, driving fundraising campaigns and overseeing fundraising events. This individual is responsible for assisting in the comprehensive planning, implementation and management of all fundraising activities, including annual giving, major gifts and planned giving. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, a passion for our mission and the ability to inspire others to support our cause.

Reports To: President & CEO
Duties & Responsibilities may include, at the discretion and guidance of the President & CEO, the following:
- Works to align fundraising with strategic initiatives.
- Provide tours of Arts Garage for potential donors, partners and stakeholders.
- Represent Arts Garage in the community, at speaking engagements and in the media to promote its mission and goals.
- Assist in the following areas:
- Managing the planning, implementation and oversight of fundraising activities including annual giving, major gifts and planned giving.
- Developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with major donors.
- Creating and executing a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors.
- Managing the annual fund mailing campaign and online fundraising appeals.
- Work to create a fund development plan that increases revenue to support Arts Garage’s strategic direction.
- Prepare regular reports on progress in fundraising efforts.
- Identify and develop corporate, community and individual prospects for Arts Garage’s fundraising priorities.
- Oversee the administration of the donor mailing list and database, ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of donor information.
- Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals.
- Ensure accurate and timely donor acknowledgments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in nonprofits, with project management experience and a track record of successful fundraising.
