The New York City Ballet is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tessitura Database Administrator. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this critical position will be responsible for the organization’s Tessitura CRM system; ensuring the database supports NYCB’s strategic goals in ticketing, fundraising, marketing, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and manage Tessitura database integration, maintenance, and reporting needs.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems (primarily SQL Server).
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security in database infrastructure.
- Write and optimize advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, supporting various departmental needs.
- Monitor database performance and implement changes for optimization and tuning.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security teams to support application development and deployment.
- Maintain database documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience as a DBA or in a related role.
- Proven experience in database management, with advanced expertise in Tessitura.
- Deep expertise in SQL (T-SQL, or ANSI SQL).
- Proven experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Strong understanding of database security and encryption practices.
- Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery planning.
