Part-Time Job Gallery Manager

We are seeking an experienced gallery professional with a record of accomplishment in managing a commercial gallery. The successful candidate will have extensive contacts with the local art community including artists, curators, press and other museum professionals.
The role of gallery manager will encompass the following functions:
•Planning, organizing, hanging all exhibitions
•Working closely with ED/CEO to develop a calendar of exhibitions across the full year – suggesting new ideas and potential partnerships
•Promotion and sales of all works for sale in the gallery
•Take ownership of the look and feel of the gallery space, including maintenance of walls and painted surfaces
•Organizing storage to optimize exhibit space
•Art handling and storage, coordination with artists
•Recruit and develop relationship with jurors to constantly enhance the quality of the exhibits
•Drive and own the submission process to maximize both the quality of submissions and revenue stream from submissions fees
•Curate additional artist inclusions to augment low submission shows
•Maintain all sales records in consultation with the accounting manager
The role will potentially be part time to start with, requiring some weekend work and compensation will be determined by the level of experience of the successful candidate.
