Full-Time Managing Director, Noorda Center for the Performing Arts
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Noorda Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in the School of the Arts, the Managing Director is a key leadership position who will implement and oversee the financial and strategic plans for the NCPA.
They will take a leading role in the development and implementation of long-range planning for the facilities, budgets, personnel, and programming.
This positive and motivated leader will ensure University policies and procedure, as well industry best practices, are followed.
With the Executive Director, will assess business opportunities and provide sound financial advice when programming events.
Primary clients include School of Arts departments of Art & Design, Dance, Music, and Theatre along with NCPA-produced events, touring attractions including the Utah Symphony, and Facility Rentals and use by other UVU entities.
The Managing Director will oversee all operational and production budgets for the NCPA. This position is directly responsible for building the projected revenue and expense forecasts for the NCPA and SOA Production environment. They will track all earned, contributed, and appropriated funds including ticket revenue, rentals, donor and sponsor support (with Institutional Advancement Office), and university appropriated funds. The Managing Director will work with the Executive Director and Marketing Director to approve ticket pricing models and meet sales goals. With the Director of Production they will implement and track all production-specific budgets and event settlements. With the Director of Operations they will implement and track all operating and labor budgets for the venue facilities and production shops. This position will process payments including artist fees, rights and royalties, and internal transfers to other units at UVU.
The Managing Director will directly oversee all “Front of House” departments and operations including the Box Office Manager and House Managers who subsequently oversee Ushers, Concessions, and Merchandise staff. They will be responsible for documentation of all policy and training pertaining to guest experience and customer service and building a culture of Exceptional Care experiences for all patrons of the arts. They will ensure accurate accounting and financial practices are followed in all revenue generating aspects of NCPA.
