Job Description
A four-show repertory model keeps things exciting for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Our production team is a mix of veteran professionals and young people with emerging careers working together in our build shops and 987-seat theater.
We bring these different people together because it is part of our mission to promote the next generation of production professionals.
FIRST HANDS:
Previous costume construction and time management experience required. First Hands work with a Draper to implement the approved construction plan for the costumes assigned by the Costume Shop Manager.
Primary responsibilities include applying and cutting drafted patterns to fabric, estimation of materials required, researching materials and techniques, repairing and alteration of costumes, responding to notes, and participating in general shop activities.
First Hands may be assigned periodic night and weekend work as determined by the Costume Shop Manager. Physical requirements include repetitive motion, lifting up to 50lb, sitting or standing for long periods of time, and operating moving machinery (sewing machine, serge machine, etc.)
Start: Between March 24 and April 7, 2025
End: June 15, 2025
Housing is available, but walkable housing is limited so we advise driving to St. Louis if possible.
