The “Rosendale Theatre Collective” describes a group of people within the community who work together, often jointly operating the business and sharing decision-making power. Committees and individuals collaborate on programming, projects, fundraising, and marketing efforts. The Collective operates without a traditional hierarchical structure, with no one person holding ultimate authority, led by a board of directors, a managing director, artistic director, technical director, house manager, and an array of committee chairs and volunteers. The success relies on the ability of members to trust and cooperate with each other, have flexibility, and share the burden of responsibility.
