Freelance Job Editors, Writers on Arts and Politics
NOTE: This job listing has expired and may no longer be relevant!
The Clyde Fitch Report (www.clydefitch.com) is the only site in American journalism covering the intersection of arts and politics. We publish articles, a podcast and video from journalists nationwide and abroad. Many contributors come from artistic disciplines (theater, dance, visual arts…). Some are political activists or even former politicians.
We recently acquired a nonprofit client — one focused on advancing a critical element of the progressive agenda — for whom we are providing custom content. We are therefore hiring new freelance editors to work with some of our regular contributors. We also are hiring more contributors as we grow.
Regular work for CFR editors is low-commitment: just a few hours a month. Editors can work on their own time from anywhere, checking in over Slack and attending occasional editorial meetings via conference call. Editors receive a stipend based on the number of writers they handle; they are additionally paid for what they write/contribute for the site. For our custom-content clients, rates are higher, and vary by project.
If you’re passionate about the arts and politics, join our team!

Ideal candidates have professional experience, strong interest in the arts, superior writing and editing skills, and ability to follow a style guide. WordPress preferred. We strongly welcome applicants with a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives.
