QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Associates degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in technical theater or design or equivalent experience.
• Proof of completed classes in Scenic Construction, Scenic Design, Stagecraft, Hanging and Focusing Lighting Plot, Practicum, and Intro to Theater (or equivalent).
• Three years technical theater experience.
• Knowledge in carpentry.
• Knowledge lighting equipment and control software, audio, and staging systems or other production equipment, and basic Windows computer skills.

Preferred:

• Three years technical theater at the collegiate or professional level.
• AED/CPR Certified.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The position will report to the Technical Manager and to the Chair of Visual & Performing Arts for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Take direction from the Technical Manager;
• Assist with the complete process of the AC Theatre Department’s productions for the whole year. This includes: sets, lights, sound, etc.;
• Assist the Technical Manager with set up, tear down, and operation of AC and non-AC related functions in ACA and Hudgins Hall;
• Assist students during Theatre lab classes as per instruction from either the Technical Manager or other Theatre faculty;
• Assist Theatre lab instructors in maintaining Temple Theater and the Scene Shop;
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair; and
• Responsible for keeping the scene shop clean and organized during daily use.

CONTRACT & SALARY:

$13.00 per hour, in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
