Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Production, the Technical Operations Manager is responsible for the scheduling, management and supervision of Annenberg Center Technical Staff and temporary workers in support of all production activities; while serving as the Production Manager for all Annenberg supported Student Performing Arts events.

This position will be part of a collaborative management team tasked with providing support labor across multiple theatrical venues and multi-function spaces for a wide variety of events and programming. While this position only manages Annenberg Technical Staff and non-union labor, it must have a detailed understanding of all existing labor agreements within the Annenberg Center.

As Student Performing Arts Production Manager, this position will coordinate, organize and support all logistical elements of all Annenberg supported Student Performing Arts performances.

Bachelor’s degree required in Technical Theater, Production Management, or a similar field of study in addition to 3 – 5 years of demonstrated supervisory experience in a theatrical environment- such as a Technical Director, Production Manager or similar. Must have proven knowledge of theatrical rigging, stagecraft techniques, audio and lighting- including familiarity of and adherence to USITT and industry standards. Must be familiar with programming on the ETC Element console and fluent with both analog and digital audio mixing consoles. The applicant must be a team player with strong customer service skills and experience in delivering exceptional products in a timely manner with varied and disparate stakeholders. Fluency with QLab, Vectorworks and Lightwright software is required. Priority will be given to those candidates with a current background in Production Management or Technical Direction, and who possess strong personnel, time, and budget management skills. Comfort with Artifax, EMS, R25 or similar event management database systems, as well as Windows and Microsoft Office products is necessary. Direct experience working with union professionals (IATSE) is highly preferred. This position will require significant evening and weekend work hours.
