Job Description

Chicago Flyhouse seeks a Project Supervisor to manage onsite installations, inspections, and other site oriented projects over several industries varying in scale. Managing the process means producing quality sites/work within the timeframe and budget required by planning, coordinating, and managing multiple projects while supervising field employees and subcontractors. The Project Supervisor will act as an on-site representative to the client with responsibility for ensuring all requirements are clearly communicated to the internal team.

Primary Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To:

• Lead crews made up of Union and Non-Union Labor, promote effective teamwork, supervise delegated projects, and train staff when needed
• Conduct site surveys and attend planning meetings with general contractors and clients
• Install a variety of equipment using the highest rigging industry standards
• Budget time and resources both ahead of onsite work and adjusting to changes while onsite
• Adhere to project deadlines and be flexible when project timelines need to change
• Monitor progress and ensures project execution meets schedule
• Keep track of changes to designs, aware of their repercussions to the onsite work, and communicate conflicts quickly and professionally
• Track project inventories and administer purchases according to Flyhouse accounting procedures
• Collaborate with Flyhouse Project Managers and Shop Foreman to find creative, efficient, and safe solutions to problems
• Forecast the shop needs with regards to staffing, space, and inventories
• Be familiar with shop drawings and able to explain them to shop staff as needed
• Write reports detailing the work required, work accomplished, incidents, and similar
• Work safely and efficiently with machine tools, hand tools, and a wide variety of materials and hardware
• Occasionally fabricate with drilling, cutting, grinding, etc.
• Maintain Flyhouse’s high safety standards

• Able to stand for extended periods of time, climb several flights of stairs, and be comfortable working at heights
• Attention to detail is critical
• Ability to interpret information from written specifications and drawings
• Use mathematical skill to calculate and interpret data using percentages, ratios, averages, and medians
• Able to do repetitive manual tasks
• Lift 50lbs/more
• Able to travel on airplanes
• Able to travel and work on cruise ships for several days at a time
• Able to travel to job sites outside of Illinois for several weeks at a time
• Willing to occasionally travel to conduct emergency repairs on short notice
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, comfortable driving flatbed trucks
• Valid US Passport and ability to travel internationally
• Able to pass random drug tests to ensure a safe working environment for all employees

• ETCP Rigging Certification in Theater and Arenas
• Experience using personnel lifts, certifications
• Rope Access Certification in SPRAT and/or IRATA
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Welding – MIG and TIG
• Background in theater or construction rigging
