Full-Time Program Specialist
Meadows School of the Arts, Ignite/Arts Dallas, is looking for an informed and creative arts administrator to advance ongoing initiatives within the Center and special projects as they emerge from Ignite/Arts Dallas. This position will serve as an external liaison to local and national artists and collaborators. This position will report to the Director of IAD and work closely with the Administrative team.
- Lead in advancing existing and emerging programs and projects with artists and collaborators.
- Co-Develop complimentary programmatic components of determined projects such as, but not limited to, lecture/demonstration, master classes, workshops, etc.
- Communicate with the various stakeholders of IAD as it relates specifically to programs and initiatives. Attend external events and programs to stay informed on campus, in the City of Dallas and on occasion, nationally.
- Develop and execute writing related to programs, such as the development of marketing and social media material, coordinated with the Marketing Associate.
- Coordinate on travel and accommodation logistics with the Administrative Associate.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
Field of study for degree in Theater or Fine Arts is required.
A minimum of 5 years of cultural programming and arts planning and/or project management experience is required.
Background in community engagement, non-profit settings or other cultural or entertainment based environment, is preferred.
Experience providing administrative support in high profile settings is required.
Strong project management and support experience including setting priorities, deadlines from conceptualization through implementation, is required.
Experience supporting results driven team in a fast paced environment is preferred.
Strong demonstrated writing skills are preferred.
Experience developing marketing and social media material is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) as well as internet usage and email communication, is required.
Working knowledge of social media tools is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to build relationships in a diverse community and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, local and national artists and other constituents.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to coordinate cultural programming information and timelines with various stakeholders.
Candidate must possess excellent planning and project management skills.
Must be highly organized, time sensitive and focused on details.
A strong customer service orientation is essential.
Must be able to work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, artists and other constituents.
Candidate must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
Candidate must be able to work in the evening or on the weekend for public programs and events.
Must be able to frequently travel locally across the city for events. Travel outside of the region will be minimal.
This position must be able to stand and be able to carry/lift 25 lbs.
