Located on Park City’s Historic Main Street, Susan Swartz Studios features abstract paintings by the internationally renowned eponymous artist. Susan Swartz explores the natural world through potent colors and richly layered paintings.
She is inspired by the intersection of art, nature, and spirituality.
Swartz’s distinctive style has been recognized with solo exhibitions at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Museum in Beijing, China in 2018; the Manetti Shrem Museum in Davis, California in 2018; the Russian State Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2017; the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art in Budapest, Hungary in 2016; the Ludwig Museum in Koblenz, Germany in 2015; the Kollegienkirche in Salzburg, Austria; the Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C in 2011; the Springville Museum of Art in Springville, Utah in 2010; and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2008. Her works are in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Women in the Arts; the Springville Museum of Art; the Utah Museum of Fine Arts; the International Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland; and The CAFA Museum in Beijing, China. Her work is also on display inside the United States Embassies in New Zealand, Hungary, and Beijing via the Art in Embassies program.
Susan Swartz Studios is seeking a self-motivated, personable individual to join our small Park City gallery team.
This part-time position is primarily sales oriented; the ideal candidate will have a strong sales background and an aptitude for communicating with existing and prospective clients. Using their sales expertise, this individual will help to manage client records and implement strategies designed to build our mailing list and online audience.
In this multi-faceted role, the successful candidate will work alongside the gallery Director and Manager and assist with other tasks as needed. Tasks may include gallery rehangs, arranging shipments for clients or international exhibitions, preparing for and assisting with gallery events, and updating inventories. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule with the ability to work most weekends and some weekdays to assist with coverage.
-Oversee the Main Street gallery, primarily during weekends and some weekdays, including engaging with walk-in visitors, completing sales, and updating artwork inventory
-Make customer service calls to nurture existing client relationships and keep them apprised of upcoming events and exhibitions
-Assist with gallery events
-Handle artwork and assist with gallery rehangs
-Maintain professional appearance and cleanliness in gallery
-Other administrative tasks as required
Qualifications and Skills:
-Minimum 2 years of sales experience required
-Bachelor’s Degree in Art history, Fine Arts, Business Administration, or related field preferred
-High attention to detail
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Proficient and confident oral and written communicator
-Upbeat and professional demeanor
-Organized, self-motivated, and hard working
-Enthusiastic with a desire to learn
-Ability to work independently, high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
-Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Art Logic)
-Knowledge of contemporary art preferred
Susan Swartz Studios is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12-7PM.
