Full-Time Director and Executive Dean, Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts
Edith Cowan University is seeking to appoint a new Director and Executive Dean of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
For over 30 years, WAAPA has been helping students realise their dreams and launch successful careers in the performing arts and entertainment industries. WAAPA boasts an impressive range of production, rehearsal, teaching and performance facilities and services supporting both students and academics, and is one of the leading performing arts institutions in Australia. This role represents a unique opportunity to build on already strong foundations and to lead WAAPA through the next phase of its history, cementing its position as a leader not only in Australia, but on the global stage.

A member of the University Executive Committee and reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the appointee will shape not only the ongoing development of WAAPA, but also contribute to the wider strategic direction of the University. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant leadership experience, marked by an inspiring, energetic, inclusive, and highly effective management style. With a proven track record in leading a complex entity in the performing arts or a related area, the next Executive Dean and Director will ideally also demonstrate experience in an education environment along with the ability to set and deliver a transformational agenda, with a view to broadening the reach of WAAPA globally and creating a solid platform for the future growth and development of the academy.
