Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking applications for a Director of Edith Barrett Art Gallery beginning June 1, 2020.

Primary responsibilities include:
Manage day-to-day activities of the College Art Gallery including planning and executing exhibits that educate students and attract community participation, and building relationships with local art community. Will teach 12 credits per year including Introduction to Art course as well as studio courses in painting and/or drawing, which may change or rotate according to the interests and expertise of the candidate.
The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree in studio art, arts management, museum studies, or related discipline. The successful candidate will also have curatorial experience, as well as experience teaching at the undergraduate level, and interest in developing an interdisciplinary and diverse art curriculum.

Our dedicated faculty and staff have built a tradition of excellence in teaching and learning with particular emphasis on providing individual attention to students. The College enrolls approximately 3,700 students – approximately 2,700 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students.
A city of approximately 60,000, Utica is located at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in the Mohawk Valley region of upstate New York. The area offers easy access to a broad variety of cultural attractions, including the historic Stanley Performing Arts Center and renowned Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, as well as four-season recreation.
