Full-Time Job Director of Adaptive Performing Arts
TERI, an industry leading non-profit agency headquartered in Oceanside, California, seeks a dynamic individual to provide hands-on instruction and leadership to a team of professionals working within the Performing Arts Department serving individuals with developmental disabilities. This position provides direct, hands-on, adaptive instruction with individuals with autism and special needs in the areas music, theater and dance. The successful candidate must have the skills and knowledge to adapt teaching and instruction of performing arts to individuals with a wide range of abilities. This position will directly solicit and infuse regular community engagement opportunities within the program and represent the company at community and professional events. The is an excellent opportunity for an individual with drive and purpose to benefit individuals with special needs while having the opportunity to creatively construct and facilitate department initiatives.
Full-time position with excellent compensation and benefits package.
Minimum Position Requirements:
Prior experience leading a successful team, one year experience with performing arts instruction, demonstrated use of advanced communication skills, and proven ability to provide adapted learning opportunities to individuals with special needs, HS/GED (BA/BS degree preferred). Upon job offer, successful candidates must receive a DOJ/FBI criminal background clearance, receive a negative pre-employment drug screen to include marijuana and medical marijuana, and complete a pre-employment medical physical.
