Job Description

Artfare is looking for two interns to join us in January of 2019. This is a paid position. We require a one month commitment with the possibility of staying longer.

10-15 hours per week. Start date ASAP. Will need to be available to work full days on Jan 31st and February 1st. Must have some availability on February 2-4.

Some work will be remote but you need to be able to come into the office at least once a week.

Curatorial internship

 

Responsibilities

Assist with upcoming launch exhibition for digital platform:

-Assist curators with logistics including coordination of shipping and installation

-Oversee deliveries and communicate with artists and shippers as needed

-Prepare any special installation instructions or equipment needs and work with installers to make sure each work is properly inspected and installed

-Help to prepare checklist and materials for opening, including precise captions for wall labels

-Compile and ensure execution of all consignment agreements with artists

-Ensure all works are uploaded onto our digital app, working with artists to confirm all details are correct

-On site to assist generally with event planning, running errands, and set up for launch event

-During event assist visitors with downloading our app and helping to troubleshoot and advising on its functions

-After the exhibition assist with artwork returns and post-sales logistics

 

Other tasks:

-Research and log new artists being considered for the platform

Social Media Internship

Responsibilities

 

– Monitoring and responding to social channels and campaigns

– Engaging with social media users on a daily basis

– Assisting in the creation of social media content

– Creating a regular publishing schedule, and uploading pre-set posts

– Assisting the marketing and curatorial teams with artist studio visit documentation

– Researching like-minded arts organizations and businesses

– Participating and creating content for our event

– On site to assist generally with event planning, running errands, and set up for launch event

– During event assist visitors with downloading our app and helping to troubleshoot and advising on its functions

 

Skills

– Writing for various contexts

– Basic image editing (with Photoshop or other software)

– Strong eye for shooting photos and videos (with an iPhone)

– Can speak to the value, intricacies and problems of Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms

 

Bonus Skills

– Video editing

– Advertising on Instagram or Facebook

– Experience with events
