Cultural Affairs Campus Manager
Job Description
Arlington Economic Development (AED) is seeking a dynamic and proactive Cultural Affairs Campus Manager to lead the operations of the Cultural Affairs Division (CAD) Campus.
This role involves overseeing facilities management, coordinating scheduling, managing staffing (including temporary personnel), and handling the financial administration of the campus. The CAD Campus features diverse spaces, including rehearsal studios, theaters, ceramic and printmaking studios, a mobile art truck, an outdoor art area, portable artworks, and an amphitheater.
CAD’s core mission is to create, support, and promote the arts. This is done through the delivery of art programming and public art, support to artists and arts organizations, and promotion of the arts throughout Arlington.
Salary: $75,358.40 – $116,812.80

Responsibilities
Specific duties include:
- Collaborating with the CAD Grant Administrator to develop and implement annual theater performance schedules for Arlington County grant recipients;
- Managing the allocation and scheduling of services, equipment, rehearsal space, and theater space at Arlington Public Schools;
- Developing and maintaining monthly staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing for all facilities;
- Overseeing facility maintenance, including managing program costs and contractors for repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance of County-owned equipment and venues;
- Overseeing the equipment, supplies, and administrative needs of the Shared Studio Facilities, including managing rental operations, and the Scene Shop;
- Managing all associated fees (i.e., rentals, ticket sales, classes, scene shop, mobile stage usage etc.) using RecTrac, and performing ongoing budget and revenue tracking;
- Ensuring that studios, theaters, venues, shop spaces, and equipment are safe for use and that all artists and organizations comply with safety codes;
- Managing the status of CAD facilities operations during emergency and inclement weather incidents;
- Managing CAD vehicle maintenance, and responding to all inquiries regarding vehicles that are used by the division;
- Collaborating with County departments and APS to establish strong operational guidance for joint use facilities; and
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimums:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Business Administration, or related field; and
- Considerable experience managing operations including administrative support, scheduling, planning, and supervising staff.
Substitution:
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the education requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Desirable:
Preference may be given to those with experience in one or more of the following:
- Working in an Arts organization/institution or cultural affairs environment;
- Working in a Public or non-profit sector organization;
- Theater and/or other Facilities management, including maintenance coordination, space management, and project management;
- Utilizing RecTrac or similar registration, scheduling and tracking software programs; and/or
- Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and managing office systems.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal records check will be conducted. It may include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You may be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.
Additional Information
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm, which will involve situational night and/or weekend events (This is an onsite position).
