Full-Time Corporate Partnerships Officer
Reporting to the Director of Institutional Partnerships, develops, implements, and manages the museum’s fundraising efforts with corporate philanthropic sources. Works with others across the Development department to secure and activate sponsorship for museum events and major exhibition sponsorships as well as other initiatives; develops new sources of support for special projects; oversees and builds the corporate membership program; builds and implements special corporate sponsorship programs in conjunction with the opening of a special exhibitions pavilion. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with corporate philanthropic officials.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Creates detailed, multi-year plans for corporate support which include research and cultivation of new prospects for philanthropic and sponsorship grants; oversees fulfillment and partnership enhancement activities across the museum; ensures that sponsorship packages promote strong relations between the museum and funder over the long term.
- Actively works with the Director, Deputy Director of Arts and Programs, curators, and program managers to assist in defining and developing programs for which effective corporate fundraising packages and materials can be created; works with appropriate museum personnel to develop compelling, strategic and customize proposals and related budgets and financial materials.
- Re-scopes existing corporate partnership program.
- Leads corporate sponsorship activation and benefit fulfillment to ensure mutually beneficial sponsorship integration and engagement.
- Maintains a portfolio of corporate sponsors.
- Designs and implements programs specifically intended to support special exhibitions and opening year sponsorship packages.
- Develops and applies stewardship practices to encourage continued support of the museum.
- Obtains all necessary information from Marketing and Communications department regarding promotional and marketing efforts. Works with Marketing and Communications to create and maximize promotional activities. Acts as advocate for corporate sponsors in ensuring all appropriate recognition in advertising, posters, print and electronic media, publications, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Seven (7) years of increasing responsibility in a development department, or an equivalent combination of education (post graduate), training, and experience.
- Demonstrated fundraising experience, including writing and development of solicitation strategies and events management.
- Computer literacy; knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with fundraising software preferred.
- Understanding of marketing and promotions principles: cause-related marketing techniques, public relations, advertising, and consumer values.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to speak and write persuasively, clearly, and concisely, and to blend information from multiple sources into an effective fundraising document.
- Demonstrated ability to organize coherent and relevant information for presentation to individuals and groups.
- Ability to interact effectively with board, volunteers, donors, and staff at all levels; to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment; flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality within the museum setting and in regard to information obtained in respect to prospects and donors.
- Knowledge of Asian art and culture preferred; knowledge of the local philanthropic community also preferred.
