Full-Time Chief Editor
Will oversee all editorial content across web & mobile, newsletter, social media, video, and print. Reporting to the CEO, working closely with the Programming and Marketing team, the Editor-In-Chief will shape, build, and execute an editorial voice and series of products focusing near term on Metrograph’s new digital platform.
The ideal candidate should be well rounded as an editor, writer, or producer who has a deep understanding of the independent / repertory film world, should have existing talent relationships through previous writing / editing / producing experience, and should have prior editing / writing / producing experience within the film / entertainment / arts world.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of the Metrograph brand, and a good sense of what kinds of editorial content will help amplify the Metrograph programming voice into a complete editorial experience – interviews with filmmakers, essays, content which harvests the existing archive already in place at Metrograph, etc.
Candidates should have experience working with social media and marketing teams to create posts, newsletters, and marketing assets which not only highlight editorial content but which help drive social sharing and overall brand awareness around Metrograph.
The ideal Candidate should be able to work quickly, under deadline, be ready to jump into a project with immediate timelines, and should be ready to wear many hats – editor, writer, producer, content manager, and likely others tbd. Metrograph is a small team looking to achieve great things together.
Long term, responsibilities will include editing the printed program book, and collaborating on special limited editions.
