Globe-trotting Theatre Artist & Academic

I completed my BA in English (’04) and MA in Theatre (’07) at Villanova University. Since 2007, I have been based in London, UK and recently completed a PhD in Theatre & Performance, specializing in contemporary Czech physical theatre. I also hold a TEFL certificate and have studied the Czech language to a high level (CEF B2), including an intensive course at Prague’s Charles University in 2010.

I have a wide-range of freelance and consulting experience as a director, performance maker, producer and consultant in the US, UK and Czech Republic. Recent creative projects include playing the roles of Time and Paulina in Parrabbola’s community play production of The Winter’s Tale (Gdansk Shakespeare Festival, PL/Ostrava, CR – 2012) and directing LegalAliens’ English-language world premiere of contemporary Italian play The Return. I also served as Fundraiser and Director of Research for Danish company Goossun Art-illery’s HamletZar project (2009-2011), raising £27,000 in r&d funding. I was recently elected to the role of Producer for the Dramaturgs’ Network (UK equivalent of LMDA) and am responsible for delivering a programme of monthly events including seminars, talkbacks and master classes.

In addition to my freelance work, I am an experienced lecturer, instructor and workshop leader, with two years’ experience teaching in higher education. I am also currently collaborating as a freelance editor, proof-reader and translator with the Czech Arts & Theatre Intitute in Prague.
