I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree with a minor in business administration from Mankato State University (now called Minnesota State University, Mankato).  After graduating, I furthered my education at the Lundstrum Center for the Performing Arts (non-accredited), where I eventually accepted a position as Arts Administrator and gained valuable experience in a non-profit, educational setting. 


I have twenty five years of experience in arts, entertainment and events.  I am passionate about music and the arts, and truly enjoy working in this industry.

For the past seven years, I have been responsible for the marketing and public relations for the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, and have provided executive administrative assistance to the Executive Director.  Given my successful implementation of marketing plans and excellent administrative support, I was promoted to Marketing and Operations Director in July of 2018.  In my new role, I am responsible for the marketing and promotion of concerts and events, as well as overall concert production.  In my time there, I have successfully increased the visibility of the orchestra in the community through regular communications with media professionals and negotiations of media partnerships.  Also, I have created unique and eye-catching branding for each concert season which has been noticed and complimented by board members and peers.  I also coordinate TV and radio interviews and all print production needs.

My experience also includes business ownership.  I currently own and operate two small businesses:  The Butler Did It! ( and Artsmith Consulting (  I am accustomed to balancing multiple projects and working closely with clients, freelancers, vendors and business associates.
