Karlton received a Bachelor of Arts degree in May of 2013, from Hampden-Sydney College, in Virginia. During his enrollment he studied photography- Digital and film, public speaking, and multiple design courses.

While completing a summer internship with Brazier Gallery in Richmond, Va, he was tasked with documenting the annual Plain Air event. he interviewed traveling artists while they painted and also photographed the scene for the gallery’s highly visited Facebook page.
