Summary

I recently returned home from teaching in South Korea and traveling through Japan, and am looking for an entry level museum position.

I believe that art and music are important tools that define a culture, and incorporated that idea into my teaching methods. I hope to further my education and obtain a job in either a museum or gallery.

Worked with children and adults on their conversational and writing skills. Created specific lesson plans catered to the student’s ability. Edited and revised essays for college students and businessmen.

English as a Second Language Teacher
HUFS Language Institute, Dongducheon, South Korea
August 2012- December 2012
Developed the English speaking and writing curriculum for the HUFS Dongducheon campus. Created a blend of American and Korean teaching methods to help students understand the materials they were learning in class. Constructed and administered quizzes and exams to monitor student progress. Established an American- Korean style of education to help children of varying levels of fluency develop their English skills.

Managed classrooms from kindergarten to twelfth grade with anywhere between 10 and 40 students. I would walk the students through their everyday class routine while keeping them focused on the teacher’s planned curriculum. Administered tests and quizzes along with grading for teachers who had me a as substitute multiple times. Maintained classroom order and was able to assign projects and worksheets without any problems from classes that teachers had difficulties with.

Assisted with marketing, data entry, and recruitment. Primarily worked alone to compile, catalog, and organize data relevant to the study. Created and distributed a monthly newsletter for parents in the study and sent out advertisements to nearby organizations to recruit participants. Participated in weekly team meetings to help develop ideas and methods of working with the patients.
