Summary
During the BFA years at Rhode Island School of Design I enjoyed both drawing skills and sculpture in textiles. I had a sewing business in Santa Fe for weavers, then went to Croatia for 3 years and did independent weaving and drawing. Learning tapestry for the wall and floor from the Spanish tradition in Chimayo’, NM, I then opened a weaving school/studio in Taos. There I wove in a twill tapestry technique I developed. Superimposing images and blending are the qualities it offers. I used Natural dyes.
This work gained my entrance to Cranbrook Academy of Art, and an MFA in Fiber. I worked with a laser cutter creating painted crocheted paper sculpture.
I have teaching experience throughout my career, for all ages, and for those with developmental disabilities. I work doing companion care currently for two elders that are artists.
