Costume Shop Supervisor/Instructor of Theatre

Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month appointment as Costume Shop Supervisor/Instructor of Theatre in the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance beginning August 10, 2010.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:
Construction and completion of costumes for Theatre and Dance Productions; supervise student work-studies; supervise student designers; manage the costume shop, equipment, and storage areas; and assist students with basic construction and patterning techniques.
Teaching responsibilities may include costume construction courses, Introduction to Theatre, and other courses based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:
Completed M.F.A. in Theatre Design and/or Technology required.
The candidate should have a mastery of patterning, draping, construction, fabric modification, and other craft techniques as needed. Experience with Patternmaker software preferred.
The best candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, budgeting and communication skills and excellence in teaching at the college/university level.
Professional theatre experience preferred.
