Job Description


Full Time, Salary Range $40,000 – $42,000
We seek to fill this full-time position immediately

• Strong ability to focus on activities and issues that contribute most to agreed-upon goals, manage time, distinguish between important and unimportant information

• Understand the Centers, organization, committees and functional areas
• Able to work with faculty and manage the scheduling and activity process
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
• Excellent computer skills such as Microsoft Office, Excel, QuickBooks
• Able to effectively communicate in written and oral form on status and results of the progress under Youth Education Director’s general supervision.

• Collaborate with President and Controller on budgets/long range planning for Youth Educational Programs and Community Outreach activities achieving mission
• Create and establish youth educational curriculum for review by President, including, but not limited to Summer Camp program, After School, Evening and Saturday Classes in Art, Dance, Music, Film and Theater
• Summer Camp programming – design, schedule and supervise (utilizing Interns from Intern Program) pre-camp care, supervised lunch, after camp care
• Create and maintain curriculum schedules, resource files and schedules for setup/takedown for all programs
• Collaborate with President, interview and hire faculty and prepare contracts
• Prepare and review course outlines and materials lists with faculty to assure mission
• Solicit, interview, train and supervise Interns, utilize schedule, application form and documentation of hours volunteered
• Order and maintain inventory of art/educational supplies as needed for youth programs, including Community Outreach
• Supervise performing arts recitals, ordering and arrangements for costumes, props, performance program, logistics of event, scheduling auditorium, etc
• Collaborate with President on decisions related to scholarships and grants
• Supervise Community Outreach programming, working collaboratively with volunteers, school administrators, city personnel and community
• Collaborate with Exhibitions Director on educational components of Docent Program for Community Outreach activities linked to Gallery Exhibitions
• Submit reports at staff meetings on educational activities under Youth Education Director’s general supervision
• Assist President and Development staff in writing and editing program descriptions and grant narratives
• With President and Development staff manage grants and reports related to community outreach programming initiatives
• Conceive and implement, in collaboration with marketing staff targeted marketing and program outreach for youth visual and performing arts
• Work with key staff, develop infrastructure to measure engagement and create opportunities for arts learning and community building through new media, on site and off site participation, virtual participation and curated content
• Secure any needed volunteers, supervise them, order supplies or equipment, as approved, for Community Outreach Supervise setup and takedown for Community Outreach programming, working closely with key staff to schedule appropriate space(s) on either campus, or off campus, for particular projects or presentation
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Education, Fine Arts) or comparable 3+ years experience
• Thorough knowledge of visual/performing arts curriculum, Management, leadership and people skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Quickbooks, scheduling/reporting
• Excellent organizational skills, curriculum design, budgeting, programming and supervising of educational programming for all ages
• Complex problem solving skills
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred
