Full-Time Theatre and Dance, Assistant Professor
The School of Arts and Humanities at Keene State College seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance to begin August 2015. Candidates must have a commitment to working collaboratively in a department that balances practice with theory. The successful candidate will teach Acting, Directing, Voice and Diction, and direct one production per academic year (teaching load is six courses per academic year). Candidates will have musical theatre and/or theatre education as a focus in teaching and creative work. Candidates must possess excellent teaching skills (which include a commitment to undergraduate mentoring and creative student scholarship) and have an active creative agenda.
Additional responsibilities include advising students and service to the department and the College. As part of regular teaching responsibilities at this public liberal arts college, all faculty members are expected to teach courses that serve both their department and the Integrative Studies Program (general education). Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts or Doctorate in Theatre Arts by August 1, 2015. The successful candidate will show a commitment to excellence in teaching and to working in a highly collaborative department. Professional experience is desirable.
Current rank minimum for an Assistant Professor is $61,720. Subject to change with anticipated Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement. An earned MFA or earned doctorate is required by August 1, 2015 for the rank of Assistant Professor; A.B.D. will be considered for Instructor’s rank. Salary at the rank of Instructor will be based on Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement, and was at $54,950 minimum in fall 2014.
