Powerhouse 2012 Season
Technical & Administrative Internships

Internships are currently available for the Powerhouse 2012 Summer Season of new plays in the following areas:

• Production (Carpentry, Electrics, Sound, Costumes, Props, or Production Management) -Assist department supervisors and designers during tech and production

• Stage Management- Assist AEA stage managers on several productions and workshops throughout the summer

• Company Management- Assist Company Manager with day-to-day company needs, hospitality, special events, travel, and housing

• Administration- Assist Artistic Director and General Manager with day-to-day administrative responsibilities and special projects

Internships come with a very modest stipend and free housing provided on the Vassar College campus in Poughkeepsie, NY. The season runs from June through early-August.

2012 season TBA. The 2011 season included new works by John Patrick Shanley, Patricia Wettig, Steven Sater & Duncan Sheik, Gabriel Kahane & Seth Bockley, Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, Mona Mansour, Frank Pugliese, and Dar Williams.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Founded twenty-seven years ago by Producing Directors Mark Linn-Baker, Max Mayer and Leslie Urdang and now under the leadership of Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, New York Stage and Film is a not-for-profit company dedicated to both emerging and established artists in the development and production of new works for theater and film. The cornerstone of New York Stage and Film’s programming is the Powerhouse Program — an eight-week residency at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Each summer over two hundred professional writers, directors, actors, designers and technicians, as well as over forty apprentices from colleges across the country, live and work together on the Vassar campus. The professional company presents fully staged productions, workshops and readings, all of which are open to the public.
