The American Payroll Association (APA) is the nation’s leader in payroll education, publications, and training. This non-profit association conducts more than 300 payroll training conferences and seminars across the country each year in addition to producing a variety of publications geared to the payroll professional.
We are currently in search of an Art Department Manager.
The successful candidate plans, directs, and administers all activities of the Art Department including production and creation of finished art renderings on behalf of the American Payroll Association (APA) and its affiliated companies. This position leads the creative team of designers and freelancers to create content that adheres to the visual direction of APA’s products and services. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated individual who is hands-on with the aptitude to perform in a deadline-driven, results oriented environment and ensures each design meets the creative vision, brand, and standard of quality.
Some of the main responsibilities of this job include:
•Creates digital layouts for various projects.
•Creates documentation, communicates requirements, and provides feedback to internal designers, and contractors; audits drafts and proofs.
•Directs artwork and layout design for multi-media communications.
•Meets cost standards by monitoring expenses and maximizes cost-optimization for outsourced tasks.
•Consistently and proactively strives for continuous improvement in all areas of workflows and production.
•Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; degree may be substituted with five or more years of related experience and/or training.
•Mastery of the latest design tools, platforms, and current versions of applicable design programs to include InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
•Knowledge of digital media and evolving online platforms.
•Expertise in graphic design, typography and concept development.
