Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in theatre or commensurate experience in lighting for performing arts.
• Live event lighting experience as a master electrician, lighting supervisor or similar position.
• Experience with sound and video equipment in a live production.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three years professional experience with college level theatrical productions, including demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with designers and students.
• Experience with Lightwright, Vectorworks, and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience with maintenance and repair of conventional, automated, and LED lighting equipment.
• Experience with theatrical rigging.
• Experience with crew management and client relations.
• Proficient with QLab, experience with wireless microphone systems, experience with Dante digital audio network, and experience with maintenance & repair of intercom (Clear-Com) equipment.

Job Description:

A 12-month full-time staff position managing the audio/visual and lighting for events in the Performing Arts Center, which includes the following: maintenance, inventory, set-up, strike and upkeep of lighting, sound and video equipment for the facility. Expectations will include maintaining building equipment for daily use and executing light plots (including supervision of hang and focus), overseeing sound load-in and quiet time and other technical elements as designed for specific productions within the facility throughout the year. The Audio/Visual & Lighting Supervisor reports to the Performing Arts Center Operations Manager and works closely with faculty, staff and students in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, especially the Department of Theatre and Dance and the School of Music, for events in the Performing Arts Center. The forty-hour week will include nights and weekend event coverage as scheduled by the Operations Manager. The Audio/Visual & Lighting Supervisor will provide any necessary training and supervision for students and/or professional crews when preparing for productions and will meet technical needs within the facility.
