Full-Time Job Instructor of Digital Art

Capital University invites applications for a full-time, one year term position at the rank of Instructor in the Art Program within The Department of Communication to begin August 2017. The department seeks a dynamic artist with expertise in Graphic Design, Digital Art, and Multimedia design as well as an educator committed to undergraduate education.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Teach courses within the Art & Design curriculum, particularly introductory design classes, as well as print and interactive courses at all levels within the undergraduate curriculum
•Demonstrate proficiency in typography and graphic design image making
•Demonstrate proficiency in logo design, interface design, mobile and web
•Demonstrate proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
•Teaching within the Art & Design core and senior capstone level courses is also possible depending on expertise and interest.
•Collaborative leadership within the Art program (which includes Studio Art, Art Therapy and Educational Art) including curriculum development and revision.
•Participation in the work of the department and the University as needed
•Additionally, a successful candidate must be able to teach a Studio Art course for non-majors and be able to teach foundational and advanced Art courses based on the candidate’s special interests and skill set
•Earned MFA or MA Degree in the areas of Digital Art, Graphic Design, Visual Design or related field by August 2017.
