ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. The department consists of 11 tenured and tenure-track faculty dedicated to teaching the core curriculum (BA and BFA Art Studio; Painting/Drawing/Printmaking; Sculptural Practice; Photography; BS Graphic Design & Media; BA Art History; MFA Art Studio).
We are seeking a well-rounded graphic designer and educator to complement and expand the curriculum with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Typography, Brand Identity, Time-Based Design and Website/Interface Design. Candidate should be qualified to teach throughout the Graphic Design curriculum as well as contribute to the evolution of a forward-looking program. The successful candidate will be expected to: teach lower and upper level design courses; engage in student advisement; participate in a collaborative curriculum development; contribute to program activities; maintain a creative, research and/or professional practice agenda; participate in committee work; and be engaged in both departmental and university governance activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design/Visual Communications from an accredited college or university or other terminal degree in a closely related design field from a regionally accredited college or university.

Required Qualifications

Ability to teach lower and upper division design courses.
Evidence of design expertise through professional experience or design achievement through peer review, as demonstrated through application materials.
Three years teaching experience at the college or university level in graphic design beyond the MFA.

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
