Gallery Director

Well known art Gallery on Lincoln Road (Miami Beach, FL) is currently accepting resumes for a Gallery Director.

The Gallery Director will be accountable for managing a Gallery of approximately $10 million dollars in yearly sales.
They will lead a team of Art Consultants, Gallery Assistants and Sales Assistants to ensure the utmost productivity and profitability are met and that clients are receiving the highest level of service from all internal departments.

Responsibilities include by not limited to:

• Supervise all subordinate staff (Assistant Directors, Art Consultants, Gallery & Sales Associates, Curator)
• Hiring/training/developing a successful sales staff
• Assist with the closing of sales and determining the discount rates
• Work with other departments to ensure the sales team is informed about new products, exhibitions, and any relative news relating to the artist
• Client relations – as needed
• Oversee the coordination and execution of all inside and outside events
• Find innovative networking opportunities for sales staff to attend and generate more business for the company
• Receive/inspect all inventory coming to the gallery
• Create Monthly staff schedules

The qualified candidate for this important role must have a Bachelors (B.S.) or Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent.
Four to ten years of related experience and/or training. Gallery or Retail experience in a managerial role a MUST.
Excellent communication skills (verbal/written/presentation), the ability to motivate employees in a positive and productive manner are essential.

Candidate must be willing to work a variety of shifts including but not limited to: days, nights, weekends and holidays.
