Full-Time Job Director of Ticketing and Sales

Working within our vibrant University community and alongside a strong team, including student employees and volunteers, the Director of Ticketing and Sales directs and oversees ticket sales, service, and operations for events at IU Auditorium.
This is the senior level staff member responsible for developing and implementing ticketing and box office service strategies to maximize sales and customer satisfaction for ticketed events at IU Auditorium including national Broadway and concert tours, celebrity artists, and national and international dignitaries. Utilizing current and emerging trends and technologies, this position manages the IU Auditorium subscription and single ticket sales campaigns, collaborates with the marketing and development departments to increase guest and donor satisfaction and sales, and analyzes sales and marketing reports to uncover trends and customer response to marketing efforts. The position is also responsible for building and maintaining events/subscriptions, ensuring smooth sales operations and ease of reporting, and providing inventory management, dynamic pricing, promotions, and discounting advice for Bloomington and regional campus event and venue partners.
At least five years of ticket office management experience or in a position involving extensive sales operations, customer service, and customer/client data tracking and analysis.
Bachelor’s Degree in business, non-profit management, arts management, or related field.
Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain internal and external relationships, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and effectively and tactfully deal with the public, donors, sponsors, and VIPs. S/he will have an interest, enthusiasm, and affinity for working with people.
Strong computer literacy. The successful candidate will have the ability to research and analyze complex data.
Strong understanding of standard accounting procedures, and ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports.
The successful applicant will work well in multicultural teams and with diverse constituencies. S/he will be self-motivated, work well under pressure and be able to handle several projects at one time. S/he will have good judgment, excellent problem solving skills, and strong diplomacy skills.
Effective management principles, including human resource and supervisory. S/he will have the ability to interpret, implement, and create written procedures and policies and the ability to assess office needs (make recommendations on staffing, equipment, and other program requirements).
A valid driver’s license.
This employee must be able to move through a crowded multi-level facility and stand for prolonged periods of time.
